Happy New Year

New year revolution? Ah huh, common question that everybody seems to bother...(perhaps, not everybody?...not me at least...I guess..ha..)
An hour to go, firework gonna start..
Started to feel tired and falling asleep..no hangout, no party, home sweet home...
Heard many news that weren't good so far, is it gonna be a tough year?
God's 'assignment' is challenging...and rather tough for this coming year huh?
A sincere blessing to all of you, may this new year brings you good health and wealth, be happy always!

(ps: let's share this article)

Try Something Different

When we first read the following story, we had just begun teaching a course called "The Million Dollar Forum", a course designed to teach people to accelerate their income up to levels of a million dollars a year or more. Early on we discovered people get locked into a rut of trying harder without trying smarter. Trying harder doesn't always work. Sometimes we need to do something radically different to achieve greater levels of success. We need to break out of our paradigm prisons, our habit patterns and our comfort zones.

I'm sitting in a quiet room at the Milcroft Inn, a peaceful little place hidden back among the pine trees about an hour out of Toronto. It's just past noon, late July, and I'm listening to the desperate sounds of life-or-death struggle going on a few feet away.

There's a small fly burning out the last of its short life's energies in a futile attempt to fly through the glass of the windowpane. The whining wings tell the poignant story of the fly's strategy: Try harder.

But it's not working.

The frenzied effort offers tno hope for survival. Ironically, the struggle is part of the trap. It is impossible for the fly to try hard enough to succeed at breaking through the glass. Nevertheless, this little insect has staked its life on reaching its goal through raw effort and determination.

This fly is doomed. It will die there on the windowsill.

Across the room, ten steps away, the door is open. Ten seconds of flying time and this small creature could reach the outside world it seeks. With only a fraction of the effort now being wasted, it could be free of this self-imposed trap. The breakthrough possibility is there. It would be so easy.

Why doesn't the fly try another approach, something dramatically different? How did it get so locked in on the idea that this particular route and determined effort offer the most promise for success? What logic is there in continuing until death to seek a breakthrough with more of the same?

No doubt this approach makes sense to the fly. Regrettably, it's an idea that will kill.

Trying harder
isn't necessarily the solution to achieving more. It may not offer any real promise for getting what you want out of life. Sometimes, in fact, it's a big part of the problem.

If you stake your hopes for a breakthrough on trying harder than ever, you may kill your chances for success.

Great Smile

*** photo found over internet, gracias ***

"How old are you?"
"xx."
"How long already is your braces with you?"
"Hmm, started a month ago."
"Oh, I told my elder sis to not take the ortho treatment as she is too old for that."
"Oh, how old is your sis?"
"Oh, she's kinda young..I have seen so many ortho patients are normally teenagers.."

(confused... =.=")
(confused... =.=")
(I supposed the 'sis' age is very much younger than I)

The situation was a little..hmm, embarrass I guess. I was thinking that if her sis is too old, then I must be in nanny age..haa)))))) I guess somebody just said that I am the one that is too old for ortho treatment? LOL

Well oh well, it's OK. I guess you should give a little support to your sis if she is really thinking of getting braces though. I mean ofcourse you have to go for a certified orthodontist to see if the treatment is necessary. If he/she didn't say it is too late for that, please do not speak on behalf.

Everybody deserves a great smile!

To A Friend

To The Card Sender:-
Thank you for the lovely gift and card! The cookie is delicious and the pen has smooth ink. It supposed to be a X'mas gift but..well, I ate the cookie! Haa...and I use the pen... :p Cookie has expiry date on it, so I guess I'm definitely doing the right thing to 'dispose' it..hee :p

Frankly, I been sitting here for quite some hours to start writing this. Things you said kept running in my head and there are so many words in mind that I don't know where about to begin. I guess I care because you are a good friend of mine.

It has always been fun to hangout with you and we will have many time to spend together! Don't worry too much as we cannot foresee what's coming up! Cherish the moment we spent and things we shared.

You are going to be fine, so you might as well stop being paranoid. Too much unecessary worries just going to be your burden in life. Anyway, you probably getting a little too 'emotional' as Christmas is on the way...haa....

Wishing you Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!

Phone call

*** photo found over internet ***

Thank God! I survived...for today! What a long working day...
Man, I can't and I refuse to imagine how to pass my days switching back to that department I used to worked before...stress stress stress!

Walked to the station with my music ON! And, bumped into my manager who stood in the middle of the road calling my name! Didn't expect to see him and so I greeted him with a big slap on the shoulder to express my excitement! LOL...

Urg, train was packed as usual! Anyway, glad that I managed to get a seat in the feeder bus. Feeling of going home has always been good and comforting. No place better than home I guess. Just when I was imagining first thing I'm gonna be doing reaching home...there my cellphone rang.

"Hey, where are you?"
"Umm, on the way home."
"Where about?"
"xxx...why"
"Is it OK I to come to your place?
"Where you wanna go?"..."I don't feels like going out."
"OK"
Doo......(hung up sound)

Ha-ha, my friend hung up on me before I even managed to try to suggest other day. And, I didn't even bother to return call. Mean vs. Rude? LOL...that makes a perfect match? Correction - great friends! (chuckled..)

Arh huh...I remember you told me before that you hate people hanging up on your call and it is a very impolite attitude. Ha-ha-ha, ops....see now, look who's talking? Ha-ha-ha

P@r@noi@

Today's appointment took me approximately 2hours! +.+
And...I didn't expect that it would hurt that much until I tried to have my dinner!
Whoah, for the very first time ever, I eat until I feels like crying... =.="
Man, I gotta bear with it!
No other choice!!!

This is only the beginning..
And yet, articles I read through internet makes me paranoid.
The previous failure makes me worry more...
Relapsed, extraction, malocclusions, jaw joint etc..? Can somebody give me more information? Accurate ones?

Ha))))
I guess I would need to have a long chat with my dentist!

October 05, 2008 ~ Orthodontic

I've been counting down for 18days, and today is the day ~ my 2nd orthodontic treatment!
I had my first orthodontic treatment 6years ago, took me 3years...
Well, obviously it wasn't a good one that I had to go for another treatment...

Those that do not understand the situation starts telling me to waste no time etc...
Frankly, I started to feel tired explaining it...
It is unlikely that I wanna overstrain my jaw muscle and causing me more pain in 10 or 20years later..
No one knows...
But if I can get it fixed now, why wait then?

Let's hope things will be better!
Believe it and it will come true!

A Simple Gesture

"Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
Martin Luther King Jr.

Mark was walking home from school one day when he noticed the boy ahead of him had tripped and dropped all of the books he was carrying, along with two sweaters, a baseball bat, a glove and a small tape recorder. Mark knelt down and helped the boy pick up the scattered articles. Since they were going the same way, he helped to carry part of the burden. As they walked Mark discovered teh boy's name was Bill, that he loved video games, baseball and history, that he was having a lot of trouble with his other subjects and that he had just broken up with his girlfriend.

They arrived at Bill's home first, and Mark was invited in for a Coke and to watch some television. The afternoon passed pleasantly with a few laughs and some shared small talk, then Mark went home. They continued to see each other around school, had lunch together once or twice, then both graduated from junior high school. They ended up in the same high school where they had brief contacts over the years. Finally the long awaited senior year came, and three weeks before graduation, Bill asked Mark if they could talk.

Bill reminded him of the day years ago when they had first met. "Do you ever wonder why I was carrying so many things home that day?" asked Bill. "You see, I cleaned out my locker because I didn't want to leave a mess for anyone else. I had stored away some of my mother's sleeping pills and I was going home to commit suicide. But after we spent some time together talking and laughing, I realized that if I had killed myself, I would have missed that time and so many others that might follow. So you see, Mark, when you picked up my books that day, you did a lot more. You save saved my life."
John W. Schlatter

More Food For You

Every county and city in Taiwan has at least one famous night market. As well as food, all kinds of products are available ~ mostly cheap clothes, shoes, gadgets and entertainment. Ask a local if you do not know where the nearest night market is to be found!

Above: Jelly Lemon Lime...

Above: Passion Fruit & Lychee Jelly...

Below: Vegetable / Meat Pan-fried Bun (if not mistaken...hahaha)
Hmm...look! They wrapped the meat into the bun, followed by steaming & last step is to fry it on the pan! That's how they got their name I supposed =p=

Below: BBQ...sausage...and hmm...chicken's butt! Hmm.... for those who likes it! Dare you to try!

~~~ Our thoughtful guide brought us to a DimSum Restaurant for local dishes. ~~~
Below: In Taiwan Local Dialect, this dish is called 刈包(gua4 bao1), same pronunciation as 挂包 in mandarin. Way to eat it: Open the folded bun, then put the cooked ingredient (marinated sour vege, meat, chilli, garlic & grounded peanuts) and...enjoy it! haaa.....
Below: Ahh huh....meatball soup, simple & tasty!
Below: "Chang" ~ glutinous rice with meat inside....
Below: Fried spring roll....
There are endless choice of food in Taiwan, so make sure you have enough room in your stomach!
A Blessing For All
This is one of the activity we experienced at TouCheng Leisure Farm, YiLan ~ Taiwan.
The expert/instructor (also the tour guide from the farm) taught us how to make lantern, from rice paper and wire. When the 'handicraft' is done, you could write your wishes on it. Thereafter, the insfructor will propel it by bundles of lighted oilpaper and release it into the sky.
......The Heavenly Lantern.....Sky Lantern......
......Journey begins......
......Wish us healthy at all time......
......Fly as high as you could...... ......Wish comes true as the higher you fly, up into the sky......
